Nathan Tomasello is a Northeast Ohio native whose career runs from Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy to Ohio State, the senior freestyle circuit, Real American Freestyle, and college coaching. His reputation is not built on one moment. It is built on years of winning, discipline, toughness, academic achievement, and technical detail.
At CVCA, Tomasello became a four-time Ohio state champion and finished with a 178-5 high school record. At Ohio State, he helped the Buckeyes win the 2015 NCAA team championship, won the 125-pound NCAA title as a redshirt freshman, captured four Big Ten titles, and finished his Buckeye career 100-8 without placing lower than third at the NCAA Championships.
After college, NATO kept competing and coaching. He earned senior-level medals, placed third at the 2021 Olympic Team Trials, made the U.S. National Team, coached at Duke, worked with Oklahoma RTC, built NATO Wrestling Academy in Northeast Ohio, joined California Baptist as an assistant coach, and entered Real American Freestyle as one of the league's early bantamweight names.
